Immersion Workshop ~ Wire Work @ Old Sage Farm
Apr 20 @ 1:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Immersion into Wire Work!

Our immersion workshops will cost $85.00 (that includes breakfast, lunch and all supplies.)

This class in NOT for wire work beginners.  You must know how to do some basic wire work — plain loops, wrapped loops, spirals.  If you have never worked with wire, you should take our Sunday Jewelry Class on April 14 and learn some wire techniques.

We’ll add to your wire work knowledge with some advanced techniques!  Create new frames and settings for your stones or other focal pieces (mokume?).  Learn to weave, spiral and wrap!  Donna will teach you techniques to create a beautiful pendant, a bezel setting and some other fun jewelry!  If you find that you are having some difficulty, Donna has several projects to choose from so you’ll be able to learn new things and take home some jewelry!

All materials are included so that you can create several projects.  You’ll create in silver, non-tarnish and copper wire.  Some projects may incorporate aluminum wire, too.

This will be a full day — we’ll have our usual continental breakfast and lunch but this will be a working lunch.

Immersion Workshop ~ Epoxy Clay @ Old Sage Farm
May 18 @ 1:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Immersion into Epoxy Clay!

Welcome to the world of Epoxy Clay or Epoxie Clay or sometimes Apoxie Clay!  We’ll teach you all about this two-part clay.  Clays have been used to make art, both functional and decorative, for centuries.  We’ve worked with polymer clay but this clay is different!  Epoxy clay is self hardening and can be colored with many different mediums.

With this Immersion, we’ll start by learning about Epoxy Clay.  Then, we’ll learn to mix it properly and work with the clay.  You’ll have the opportunity to create a pendant with pre-made bezels and by creating your own frame using flat wire.

You’ll also learn to color your Epoxy Clay using embossing powders, chalks, alcohol inks and more.  And, of course, we’ll use embellishments to create a one-of-a-kind pendant or earrings.

We’ll use paper transfers to create pendants, too!  Choose from a variety of paper and transfer products.

Finally, Amy will bring metal work into the Epoxy clay world!  Punch and texture your metal then we’ll place it onto the Epoxy clay.  Embellish and you’ll have a wonderful pendant or earrings.  You’ll have time to make up to 5 or 6 pendants and at least 1 pair of earrings during the class.

As usual, we’ll have a continental breakfast and lunch that will be provided during the class.

Cost: $85.00 per person (includes all supplies, breakfast and lunch)
