Old Sage Farm is a mother-and-daughter partnership built on a lifelong love of creating beautiful things by hand.

For more than three decades, Old Sage Farm has been a place for creativity. What began with Donna Weeks’ love of herbs, gardening and art grew into classes, workshops and handcrafted work. In 1994, The Washington Post featured Donna and Old Sage Farm, and over the years the farm welcomed visitors for herb walks, workshops and creative programs.

Donna has been creating for more than 40 years and specializes in jewelry design, including beaded, wire and mixed-media pieces. Never one to stop learning, she continues to explore new techniques and materials and also creates crocheted shawls, scarves and necklaces. Her work has been featured in several national magazines.

Amy Gunn began her creative journey with jewelry design and has since expanded into pottery and fused glass. Her work includes wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery, fused-glass jewelry, plates and decorative pieces. Like Donna, Amy is always experimenting with new materials and techniques, so what comes out of the studio is continually evolving.

Teaching has also been an important part of the Old Sage Farm story. Together, Donna and Amy taught classes and workshops for many years, including teaching at Bead Fest, one of the largest bead and jewelry events on the East Coast.

Today, Old Sage Farm continues to evolve while staying true to what has always made it special: creativity, craftsmanship and the joy of making something by hand. Each piece is thoughtfully created, often one at a time, blending decades of experience with a shared enthusiasm for trying something new.

And each year, we open our doors for Holiday Thyme, our annual Art & Craft Show & Sale, where visitors can discover one-of-a-kind art, handcrafted gifts and whatever new things we've been inspired to make.
